TANZANIA (eTN) - In a milestone history of tourism promotion partnerships, the Tanzania Tourist Board has launched an international tourism marketing strategy that will place this African nation on top among the worldleading tourist destinations. The Tanzanian Minister for Tourism, Mr. Khamis Kagasheki, unveiled the International Marketing Strategy for Tanzania compiled in a 28-page, full-color document and said joint efforts are needed from public and private stakeholders to implement such a strategy that will see this country attracting two million tourists in the forthcoming five years. The milestone strategy took 18 months of public and private partnership to compile, involving joint discussions and consultations between both sectors (public and private) in which key stakeholders were involved, the Tanzania Tourist Board Managing Director, Dr. Aloyce Nzuki, said. Amani Nature Reserves, Birding Paradise

The Amani Nature Reserve was created to protect the unique, biologically important submontane forest ecosystem of the East Usambara Mountains in Amani, Tanzania. The East Usambara Mountains form part of a chain of isolated mountains stretched in an arc around north-eastern Tanzania. The East Usambara covers an area of about 1300 km², (130,000 ha). East Usambara Mountains is located between Longitude 38.5-39.50 E and Latitude 4.5-5.00S, lies at an altitude of Approximately 190-1130 m above sea level and receives over 2000 mm of rainfall per year. During the hot season (Dec - March) the average daytime temperature is 25-29 0c and 22 -26 0c at night and during the cool season (May-Sept) 18-220c in daytime and 16 -200c at night. Amani is located about 75 kilometres from Tanga municipality and 32 kilometers from Muheza town. The area is covered with tropical evergreen rain forest. Precision Air Tanzania becomes the first airline to operate ATR42-600 Globally

Tanzanian carrier Precision Air Services has today taken delivery of the first ATR 42-600 to go into scheduled commercial service. It is also airline’s first brand new -600 series aircraft out of 5 (4 ATR 42-600s and 1 ATR 72-600) ordered in December 2011. The official ceremony which took place earlier today at the ATR Delivery Center in Toulouse, France, was attended by Alfonse Kioko, CEO of Precision Air Services and Filippo Bagnato, ATR CEO. The introduction of these new series airplanes will increase its ATR fleet to 14 aircraft thus making Precision Air Services the largest ATR operator in Africa. The carrier is keen to further develop its regional network, adding new routes and frequencies to its domestic and regional markets. This fleet expansion will allow the airline to offer its passengers the advantages and comfort of the new ATR -600 series ‘Armonia’ cabin.
